“ Coal Country ”

7:00 p.m., November 19, 2009

Tulsa Garden Center, 2435 S. Peoria Ave., Tulsa, Oklahoma

Join us as we view this new film just released by Sierra Club.  Coal Country is a stunning documentary that takes us inside the lives of the Appalachian residents directly threatened by mountaintop-removal mining, a destructive mining practice that involves blasting apart mountaintops to expose the coal within. The resulting mining waste is then carelessly dumped into streams, polluting the drinking water of nearby communities. As it takes

us through each stage of coal mining and processing, Coal Country reveals the shocking true cost of America's over-reliance on coal.

Refreshments will be served.
